Why Train in Craniosacral Therapy?
Craniosacral therapy is based on the work of Dr. William Garner Sutherland who expanded on Osteopathy to create his own unique healing method. Today, the usefulness of Craniosacral therapy for a wide-variety of conditions and symptoms has been well documented and backed up by the findings of numerous scientific papers.

Craniosacral therapy is a very gentle form of treatment that has deep and profound therapuetic effects on the various systems of the body. It is widely recognised by Practitioners, and also increasingly by health professionals such as GPs and dentists, as being a treatment that can often resolve medical complaints that were not successfully helped by other means.

As well as being a valuable aid to generally maintaining a good level of health and strengthening the constitution, there is a long list of specific conditions that it can be very effective with including: migraines, chronic back and neck pain, hormonal imbalances, Asthma, stress, Sciatica, sprains & injuries, sleeping disorders, birth traumas, PMS, ear infections, learning difficulties etc.

Graduates eligible to join the Complementary Therapists Association.]
Lecturer: Jonathan Lawrence BA DO Cert.Ed.
Suitable for: Osteopaths, Chiropractors, Acupuncturists, Medical practitioners (GPs, Dentists, etc), Herbalists, Homoeopaths, Holistic Bodyworkers, Massage therapists, reflexologists, aromatherapists, osteomyologists, reiki practitioners, Healers etc

To be eligible to apply you should have:

  • an A & P certificate to Level 3 of the national occupational standard
  • or to have studied A & P as a module in another course such as osteopathy, chiropractic, massage or reflexology
  • or to have a medical background (Doctors, Dentists, Nurses, Physiotherapists etc)

Brief Course Outline
This course teaches the key skill of palpation of the Cranio Rhythmic Impulse (the CRI), and how using gentle, highly specific manipulations this motion can be improved with resulting improvement in function meaning less pain, more energy etc.

Relevant anatomy and physiology will be covered so that individual structures of the body can be identified that are the cause of any imbalances. At the end of the course participants will be able to take a case history, make an assesement and devise an effective treatment strategy for their patients. They will have the basic skills required to become a competent, safe, qualified Craniosacral Practitioner.

Continual assesment, successful completion of a portfolio and a simple exam will lead to the issue of certificate.

  • Emotional
  • Physical Trauma

All the above must be completed to be issued the diploma. Certificate of attendance given for each one.

Jonathan trained as an osteopath after teaching Environmental Science in secondary school. He lectured at the European School of Osteopathy until he moved to the Westcountry. He has subsequently taught osteopathic, soft tissue and cranial techniques in the UK and abroad to a variety of practitioners including massage therapists, osteopaths, midwives and doctors.
